Email ID should be controlled by the end user! Using Email ID is a great concept. However, the big guns on the net propose that this be a server side only solution. There has still been no incorporation of the end user in all this. The current proposal to use email ID leaves things wide open for legitimate spam to get right through. Why? Because the user has no say so in the matter.
That is why Mailbox Filter created SMART ID.This allows the user to issue Private Keys to anyone in the authorized list. This Smart ID key combines sender and user information to create a special code. This can only be used by the sender. It is a total lock down on security which has been in place since day one within Mailbox Filter.
I applaud the attempts to make our internet more free from spam. But if companies continue to avoid the more complicated issue of incorporating USERS PROFILES to help identify spam for them, it will only continue to be a problem.
Positive acceptance controlled by the USER is the surest way to ensure we get rid of spam. If spammers send email, but the users only accept the mail they want, then it becomes unprofitable. A much more complicated task to overcome, but way more powerful in the long run. It also guarantees that no good email will get lost.
Time will tell how this shapes up.
Sincerely,
Robert Jensen
